Located in the midst of nature surrounded by endless forest, Nectar<\/strong>, in collaboration with\u00a0CARLES TACH\u00c9 GALLERY<\/strong>\u00a0<\/strong>&\u00a0ON MEDIATION_<\/strong><\/span>Platform on Curatorship and Research<\/strong>, presents its first multidisciplinary art residency program offering a community-based living and working experience for worldwide artists in all career stages. The residency is a unique opportunity to delve into the artistic and creative process enjoying rural environment and a great opportunity to connect with Barcelona Art scene.<\/span><\/div>\n

\nNectar will host 4 artists during the\u00a0<\/span>3-week residency, one with a fully funded grant and three with 50% funded grant\u00a0<\/span>
\n<\/span><\/strong><\/div>\n<\/blockquote>\n

The Residency<\/span><\/h2>\n
\n

Nectar<\/strong> is a non-profit cultural organization located in the midst of nature in the off-the-grid 16th-century farmhouse, surrounded by endless forest inside Les Guilleries Natural Park, about 1h and 30min drive north from Barcelona.<\/span><\/p>\n

In its first artist residency program, Nectar<\/strong> will work in collaboration with\u00a0<\/span>ON MEDIATION_Platform on Curatorship and Research<\/strong>, an initiative of the Research Group\u00a0<\/span>Art Globalization Interculturality<\/strong>\u00a0(AGI) from the University of Barcelona.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

The artists will have the chance to present their work in an\u00a0<\/span>Open Studio<\/u>\u00a0event and gather along with On Mediation team and guests from the local art scene, enabling a space of conversation and feed-back. On Mediation team will write a short text about each artist\u2019s work that will be published at\u00a0<\/em><\/span>OMMagazine<\/a>.<\/span><\/div>\n
The culmination of the residency will be a\u00a0<\/span>one month exhibition<\/u>\u00a0in\u00a0<\/span>CARLES TACH\u00c9 GALLERY<\/strong>,\u00a0<\/span>one of the most well-known Contemporary Art Galleries in Barcelona,\u00a0where the artists will present their works within the artistic Barcelona scene. The opening will be on June 9th<\/span>\u00a02018.<\/span><\/span>\u200bA one-day visit to exhibitions, art spaces, artist\u2019s studios or other events in Barcelona will be organized by Nectar<\/strong>\u2019s team. During their residency, the artists will have access to Nectar<\/strong>\u2019s administrative and human support and to its network with local artistic and cultural community.

\nDaily food supply \/ self-cooked
\n\u2014 Studio Spaces & Facilities<\/strong>:
\nStudio spaces vary according to the proposed projects and media. Individual space and shared working studios are located in the main farmhouse. Indoor and outdoor spaces (two terraces, a patio, the land of the property and a 60m2 Moroccan tent) are open to the artist\u2019s practice. Artists are also encouraged to use the nature and the environment that surrounds us as their workspace. Artists will have access to studio and workspaces 24 hours a day. The fully equipped-kitchen and the two bathrooms are shared.

Application Guidelines<\/span><\/h2>\n
Artists must submit a<\/span>\u00a0project proposal<\/strong>\u00a0which should include the following:<\/span><\/div>\n
Summarize your project’s proposal, giving the reader a\u00a0<\/span>a clear understanding of your intended work \/\u00a0<\/span>A statement of your needs\u00a0<\/span><\/span>in order to research and produce your art.<\/span>To apply, applicants must submit the following documents by using the\u00a0<\/span>online application form<\/span><\/span><\/a><\/u><\/strong>:<\/span>
