Located in the midst of nature surrounded by endless forest, Nectar, in collaboration with\u00a0\u00e0ngels barcelona gallery<\/em>\u00a0&\u00a0On Mediation_Platform on Curatorship and Research<\/em><\/span>, presents its art residency program offering a community-based living and working experience for local and international emerging artists. The residency is a unique opportunity to delve into the artistic and creative process enjoying rural environment and a great opportunity to connect with Barcelona Art scene.<\/p>\n

** Nectar will host 4 artists\u00a0with four 50% funded grant **<\/strong><\/span><\/div>\n

<\/div>\n

The Residency<\/span><\/u><\/h2>\n
Nectar<\/strong>\u00a0is a non-profit cultural organization located in the midst of nature in the off-the-grid 16th-century farmhouse, surrounded by endless forest inside Les Guilleries Natural Park, about 1h and 30min drive north from Barcelona.<\/span>
\n\u200b
\nIn its Artist Residency Program, Nectar will work in collaboration with\u00a0\u00e0ngels barcelona gallery<\/strong><\/em>\u00a0and\u00a0On Mediation_Platform on Curatorship and Research<\/em><\/strong><\/span>,<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0an initiative of the Research Group\u00a0<\/span>Art Globalization Interculturality<\/em>\u00a0(AGI) from the University of Barcelona.<\/span>
\nThe culmination of the residency will be an\u00a0<\/span>exhibition<\/u>\u00a0at\u00a0espai2<\/strong>\u00a0from \u00e0ngels barcelona gallery<\/span>,\u00a0<\/span>one of the most well-known Contemporary Art Galleries in Barcelona,\u00a0where the artists will present their works within the frame of\u00a0Art Nou Festival.<\/strong>\u00a0The opening will be on\u00a0September 5th 2019.<\/u><\/span>
\nThe artists will have the chance to present their work in an\u00a0<\/span>Open Studio<\/u><\/strong>\u00a0event and gather along with guests and cultural agents from the local art scene, enabling a space of conversation and feed-back.\u00a0A\u00a0one-day visit<\/strong><\/u>\u00a0to exhibitions, art spaces, artist\u2019s studios or other events in Barcelona will be organized by Nectar\u2019s team. During their residency, the artists will have access to Nectar\u2019s administrative and human support and to its network with local artistic and cultural community.<\/span><\/p>\n

From an open call addressed to young curators who have attended one of the 6 editions of On Mediation (2013-2019), a curator will be chosen to curate the exhibition in espai2. The young curator will work from the proposals of the four resident artists, taking charge of the curatorship and the exhibition’s communication and activation.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\nStudio Spaces & Facilities:<\/em><\/strong>
\nStudio spaces vary according to the proposed projects and media. Individual space and shared working studios are located in the main farmhouse. Indoor and outdoor spaces (two terraces, a patio, the land of the property and a 60m2 Moroccan tent) are open to the artist\u2019s practice. Artists are also encouraged to use the nature and the environment that surrounds us as their workspace. Artists will have access to studio and workspaces 24 hours a day. The fully equipped-kitchen and the two bathrooms are shared.

Application Guidelines<\/span><\/u><\/h2>\n
The residence is addressed to\u00a0emerging artists<\/strong>\u00a0(up to 35 years old)
\nArtists must submit a<\/span>\u00a0project proposal<\/strong>\u00a0that gives the reader a\u00a0<\/span>a clear understanding of their intended work\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n
